NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Dec. 5) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball faced its first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) road game against Westminster on Wednesday. After leading through three quarters, the Jackets fell to the Titans by the final of 73-64.

The Jackets continued the strong start by increasing their lead to 13 points (27-14). Westminster (4-4, 2-1) battled back and cut the Waynesburg lead down to four points (31-27) at the halftime horn.

Waynesburg freshman Haley Porter (Belmont, Ohio / Union Local) led all scorers in the first half with 14 points while going four-for-four from long distance. Sophomore Andrea Orlosky (Shelocta, Pa. / West Shamokin) added nine points with senior Monica Starre (Jewett, Ohio / Carrollton) contriibuting four points off the bench.

In the second half, Waynesburg continued its hold over the Titans by extending its lead to 45-34. However, Westminster did not go away as it ended the third on a 12-2 run and only trailed by one (47-46) at the end of the period. The Titans grabbed their first lead of the game to start the fourth, but the Jackets regained the advantage and led 60-55 with 3:58 remaining in regulation.

Unfortunately, another Westminster comeback ultimately decided the final outcome. The home team ended the game on an 18-4 run to pull out the seven-point victory.
