WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 20) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team hosted the top program in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in Washington & Jefferson on Friday. The Yellow Jackets fell 9-0 to the visiting Presidents.
After W&J (14-2, 8-0) swept the Jackets (6-8, 2-5) the three doubles matches, Waynesburg put together several strong efforts in singles competition. Junior
Jonah Cooper took his match at first singles to three sets, but came up on the wrong end of a 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 score. Senior
Adam McKnight posted a similar effort at the number-four spot, which ended in a 7-5, 1-6, 10-8 final.
Senior Andrew Brunette nearly took the first set of his match at the number-three flight, but just missed out on accomplishing the feat after suffering a 7-5, 6-2 defeat.
Waynesburg is back in action on Monday, when it hosts Geneva for a PAC match at 4 p.m.
