NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Sept. 12) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to Muskingum for a Wednesday night game with the Muskies. Unfortunately, the trip ended with the Jackets suffering their first loss of the season by way of a 2-0 shutout.
The Muskies (2-3) managed to slip in the game's first goal just before halftime in the 44
th minute. Muskingum added the insurance tally in the 61
st minute, then stymied the Yellow Jackets (4-1) down the stretch to secure the win.
Though it came in her first loss of the season, junior goalkeeper
Courtney Syfert put together her busiest effort in net this year. She made 11 saves over 90 minutes of action.
The Jackets will look to get back on the winning track when they travel to Mount Aloysius on Saturday. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
