BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Sept. 29) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team made the road trip to Geneva for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match with the host Golden Tornadoes and Thiel. The Yellow Jackets dropped both contests by 3-0 finals.
Waynesburg (3-16, 0-9) opened the day by falling 25-17, 25-15, 25-17 to the Tomcats (8-12, 3-5). The Jackets wrapped things up against Geneva (10-7, 4-4), falling by the set scores of 25-5, 25-15, 25-17.
Waynesburg was led offensively by senior Jordyn Wylie, who tallied 15 total kills over the two matches. Sophomore
Hannah Colvin and senior
Lexy Waldman chipped in 12 and 10 successful attacks, respectively. Juniors
Alyssa Proper and
Olivia Zuchelli helped out the attack with 23 and 22 assists, respectively.
Senior
Cassidy Guiser was very solid on defense, going for 26 total digs (4.33 per set).
The Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when they return home to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse to host Saint Vincent. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
