PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 6) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team traveled to Pittsburgh on Wednesday afternoon for a tri-match against the host team from La Roche and Baldwin Wallace. The Yellow Jackets dropped a pair of 3-0 matches on the day.
Waynesburg (1-5) dropped its first contest of the day to La Roche (2-4) by the set scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-7. The Jackets next squared off against the Yellow Jackets of BW (5-1). Waynesburg fell 25-12, 25-8, 25-11.
Senior
Jordyn Wyllie paced the Jackets with 13 kills (2.17 kps). Sophomore
Alexis Phillips averaged a squad-high 4.40 assists per set, while the Waynesburg defensive effort was led by senior
Cassidy Guiser, who recorded 14 digs over six sets.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, Sept. 7, when they host Mt. Aloysius for their first home match of the 2018 schedule. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
