GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 22) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team hit the road on Tuesday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Thiel. The Yellow Jackets came up short of victory, falling 3-0 to the Tomcats.
Thiel (10-17, 9-5) took the win by the set scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-16.
Waynesburg (3-19, 0-11) was led by junior
Hannah Colvin (Hagerstown, Md. / Grace Academy), who put down a team-high six kills. Senior
Alyssa Proper (Titusvlle, Pa. / Maplewood) helped out the Yellow Jacket attack with four assists.
Sophomore
Alyson Johnson (Raceland, Ky. / St. Joseph Central Catholic) paced the visiting team's defensive efforts with 15 digs. Colvin and sophomore
Mallory Stopko (Freeport, Pa. / Freeport) chipped in 11 digs each on the night.
Waynesburg is back in action on Thursday for a special home match against PAC rival Chatham. The evening will serve as a Breast Cancer Awareness match and is scheduled to get started at 7 p.m.
