Jonah Cooper (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Beaver County Christian) picked up a pair of victories, but it wasn't enough, as the Yellow Jackets dropped the contest 6-3.
Cooper teamed up with classmate
Josh Denham (New Kensington, Pa. / Valley) to score a hard-fought 8-6 win at first doubles. The veteran followed that up by winning a battle at first singles. Cooper showed his veteran mettle in a grueling 7-6, 5-7, 10-8 win.
Speaking of three-set victories, freshman
Joe English (Smithfield, Pa. / Home Schooled) notched one of his own at number-three singles. English scored his most recent victory 4-6, 7-5, 10-8.
With the regular season in the books, the PAC turns its attention to the upcoming championship tournament. Waynesburg (8-6, 3-4), which earned the number-five seed, will travel to fourth-seeded Bethany (9-5, 4-3) on Tuesday, April 23, for a 4:30 p.m. quarterfinal match.
