Lancaster, Pa. (Aug. 30) –There wasn't a lot of offensive action in Friday's season opener between Lancaster Bible College and Waynesburg University. However, the Yellow Jackets got just enough offense and a fantastic defensive effort to knock off the host Chargers 1-0.
Waynesburg (1-0) scored the only goal of the day in the final minutes of the its meeting with LBC (0-1). With the scored knotted at 0-0, junior
Emily Hill (Johnstown, Pa. / Richland) connected on a cross pass from senior
Teagan Jenner (Berlin, Pa. / Berlin Brothersvalley) and headed the ball into the back of the net with 7:57 remaining in the contest.
The Jacket defense did the rest, holding the Chargers to five total shots, none of which were put on net.

Emma Burns (Avella, Pa. / Madonna) got the in goal for the Jackets.
Waynesburg is back in action tomorrow when it travels to Penn State Harrisburg. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
