WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 24) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team opened the fall portion of its 2019-20 season by competing in two matches over three days. The Yellow Jackets defeated Muskingum 9-0 on Saturday, before falling by the same score at Geneva on Monday.

Tanner McKnight (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City), freshman
Michael Saliba (New Kensington, Pa. / Valley), sophomore
Keaton Moorehead (Apollo, Pa. / Kiski) and junior
Frank Sullivan (Mullica Hill, N.J. / Kingsway Regional) against the Muskies (0-1). All five of Waynesburg's contested singles victories were by straight sets. The Jackets were helped out by a pair of forfeits on the day.
Cassidy nearly added another singles win against the Golden Tornadoes (2-1) by taking his opponent to three sets.
The Jacket men are back in action on Saturday, when they take part in a tri-match at Washington & Jefferson. Waynesburg opens the day against Mount Aloysius at 1 p.m., before wrapping things up against the host Presidents at 3 p.m.
