MCKEESPORT, Pa. (Sept. 28) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team traveled to Youghiogheny Country Club on Saturday for a dual match with NAIA opponent Carlow. The Yellow Jackets bested the Celtics 337-376.
Waynesburg (2-0) was led freshman
Andrew Evans (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park), who posted a match-best score of 83. He was followed closely by sophomore
Luke Diel (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Mars) and senior
Alex Orlandini (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette), who tied for second on the squad with identical tallies of 84.
Freshman
Cannon Hay (Berlin, Pa. / Berlin Brothersvalley) also broke 90 after tallying an 86.
Junior
Will Purbaugh (Confluence, Pa. / Turkeyfoot Valley) joined his teammates on the trip and recorded a 92.
The Jackets are back in action on Monday, Sept. 30, when they travel to the Westminster Invitational.
