WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 8) – It took a complete team effort, but the Waynesburg University men's golf team bested Bethany and Geneva at Tuesday's Jacket Tri-Valley Classic, which was held at the Par 72 Greene County Country Club. All four Yellow Jackets whose scores counted towards the team's winning total of 305 fired rounds in 70s.
 
Sophomore Alan Tarolli (Washington, Pa. / Fort Cherry) led the balanced efforts by carding a team-best 74 on the morning. Junior Braden Benke (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) and freshman Dominic Benamati (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) each tallied 76's, while freshman Chase Werthman (Canon-McMillan) added a 79 to the winning effort.
 
The Jackets held off Bethany, which logged a 306. The Bison were led by individual medalist Jude Smith, who carded a three-under 69. Geneva produced a 325.
 
Waynesburg is back in action on Monday, Sept. 14, when they travel to Latrobe Country Club to participate in the Saint Vincent Invitational. Tee time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
