WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Jan. 29) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team hosted Chatham Wednesday evening in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game. The Yellow Jackets led 24-23 at half but were outscored by the Cougars 33-18 over the final 20 minutes to drop the contest 56-42.

Frank Bozicevic (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway) paced the Yellow Jackets (4-15, 4-6) in scoring, finishing the night with 16 points on six-of-12 shooting. He also brought down six rebounds and dished out a team-high three assists. Senior guard
Cam Auld (North Huntingdon, Pa. / Norwin) set a career-high with 14 rebounds, adding seven points, while senior forward
Brennan Smith (New Cumberland, W.Va. / Oak Glen) completed his night with 11 rebounds and five points.
Waynesburg started out strong, beginning the game with a 10-0 run over the first 4:22 of play. The Yellow Jackets continued to hold their lead before building back to a 10-point advantage at 20-10 with 8:18 remaining in the first half. Chatham (12-6, 7-3) began turning things around at that point, finishing the half on a 13-4 run to cut its deficit to just one point at 24-23.
The Cougars tied the game early in the second half at 25, but Auld gave Waynesburg the lead back by making a layup to push the score to 27-25. Chatham grabbed its first advantage of the night by connecting on a three-pointer to put itself on top 28-27 with 16:14 remaining in the second half. The Cougars never trailed from that point forward.
Waynesburg eventually brought the deficit back down to just five points (39-34) with 8:49 remaining on the clock, but Chatham responded with a 14-2 run to build its advantage to 18 points with 3:45 showing on the game clock, putting the game out of reach.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Westminster in a PAC matchup. Tip-off in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, is set for 3:30 p.m.
