WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 23) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team hosted Chatham on Saturday for a senior day Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown. The Yellow Jackets battled the number-two team in the league, but it was the Cougars who left town with a 3-1 win.
Waynesburg (9-18, 3-14) played a pair of competitive sets to open the match, but unfortunately dropped both to Chatham (16-6, 11-4) by the scores of 25-20 and 25-22, respectively. The Jackets bounced back to take set three in impressive fashion 25-17. The Cougars regrouped and closed out the match with another narrow set win (25-23).
Mya Brooks (Lansing, Mich. / Holt) posted 11 kills, which were the most by any player in the match. Speaking of match highs, freshman
Paige Cousley (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) logged a contest-best 32 assists, while classmate
Emma Hyatt (Carmichaels, Pa. / Carmichaels) put back four blocks, the most on the day.

Alyson Johnson (Raceland, Ky. / St. Joseph Central Catholic) paced her team in digs with 24.
Waynesburg wraps up its 2021 schedule on Thursday with a home match against PAC-leading Westminster. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
