PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 6) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to Chatham on Wednesday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference meeting. The Cougars struck early in the evening and made the tally stand up in a 1-0 contest.
Chatham (5-3-1, 2-0) tallied the only goal of the day during the 12th minute of competition. After allowing the game-winning score, junior goalkeeper
Autumn Blair (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) stopped the final 10 shots on goal to keep the Yellow Jackets alive over 90 minutes of action.
Freshman
Haley Johnson (Somerset, Pa. / Rockwood) and sophomore
Kate James (Silver Spring, Md. / St. John's College High School) paced the Waynesburg offense with three shots each. James put two of her attempts on goal.
The Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 9, when they travel to Bethany for another conference contest. Start time is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
