BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 9) The Waynesburg University women's soccer team traveled to Bethany on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference meeting. The Yellow Jackets came out on the right end of a tightly contested battle with a 1-0 victory.
Waynesburg (5-6, 1-3-0) scored the game's lone goal in the 67th minute. Senior
Lea Holtz (Johnstown, Pa. / Bishop McCourt) posted her second tally of the season to provide all the offense the Yellow Jackets needed to claim victory over the Bison (4-7, 0-4).
Sophomore
Kate James (Silver Spring, Pa. / St. John's College Highschool) and Senior Hayley Frizzell (Finleyville, Pa. / Ringold) paced the Jacket offense with three shots on goal each.
Junior Goalkeeper
Autumn Blair (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) earned the complete-game shutout after making two saves against the host team.
The Jackets will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct 13, when they welcome conference rival W&J for a PAC contest. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
