WESTERVILLE, Ohio (Nov. 23) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team hit the road on Tuesday to face off with Otterbein. The Yellow Jackets fell 90-62 to the host Cardinals.
Otterbein (4-1) forged a 26-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and grew that advantage to 53-28 by halftime. The host squad's lead grew to 74-39 heading into the fourth-and-final period. Waynesburg (0-5) closed out the game on a high note by outscoring the Cardinals 23-16 over the final 10 minutes.
Though it didn't lead to a win, senior center
Brooke Fuller (Allison Park, Pa. / Hampton) posted a double-double with game highs in both points (20) and rebounds (12). Junior point guard
Anika Dansby (Massilon, Ohio / Washington) chipped in 12 points and five rebounds.
Waynesburg opens Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play on Saturday, Nov. 27, when it travels to Saint Vincent. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
