Women's soccer opens 2020-21 schedule

Blair shines in net, but Waynesburg falls 3-0 at Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. (March 13) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team opened its 2020-21 season with a road trip to perennial Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) powerhouse Grove City. After the two teams battled through a scoreless first half, the Wolverines scored three times in the second on their way to a 3-0 victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Autumn Blair (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) started and played the first 45 minutes in net. Blair was a wall in the box for the Jackets (0-1, 0-1) as she stopped all six shots she face on goal. Sophomore Faith Falick (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette) posted three saves and allowed all three goals over 36:20 in goal. Junior Kennedy Schuck (Marietta, Ohio / Marietta) didn't face a shot on goal over 8:40 of action.

Grove City (1-0, 1-0) tallied the eventual game-winner in the 52nd minute of play and added insurance goals in 73rd and 77th minutes.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 20, when they host Chatham. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
