WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 14) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team hosted Thiel on Wednesday evening for its final home game of the season. The Yellow Jackets fell 18-4 to the Tomcats.
After a quick goal by Thiel (4-1, 2-1) just 56 seconds in, Waynesburg (0-8, 0-4) got a tying goal from sophomore
Eve O'Sullivan (Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe) just 39 seconds later. Unfortunately, that was Waynesburg's last goal of the half. The Tomcats, meanwhile built up an 11-1 halftime lead.
That advantage grew to 13-1 in the second half, before O'Sullivan picked up her second of the contest. The second-year standout completed a hat trick before the final seconds ticked away from the clock and added an assist on a goal by junior
Lily Portman (Roaming Shoe, Ohio / Grand Valley).
Senior goalkeeper
Riley Yoder (Lancaster, Ohio / Fisher Catholic) recorded nine saves over 60 games between the pipes.
After playing five of its last six games at home, Waynesburg is scheduled to play its last three contests of the season on the road, beginning with Saturday's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Bethany. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
