LATROBE, Pa. (April 5) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team traveled to Saint Vincent on Monday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown. The Yellow Jackets fell by the final score of 21-5 in the PAC opener for both squads.
The Bearcats (4-2, 1-0) opened up a 6-0 lead, before sophomore
Hannah Rosenberger (Bruceton Mills, W.Va. / Preston) broke up the shutout with her first goal of the game. SVC answered to make it 7-1, but Rosenberger unloaded another tally halfway through the opening period tog make it 7-2.
Sophomore
Eve O'Sullivan (Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe) posted the visiting team's final goal of the first half to make the score 13-3. Saint Vincent took a 14-3 lead into the halftime break.
O'Sullivan completed a hat trick by scoring Waynesburg's (0-5, 0-1) final two goals of the game in period number two.
Senior goalkeeper
Riley Yoder (Lancaster, Ohio / Fisher Catholic) put together solid numbers in goal, making 14 saves on the road trip.
The Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, April 7, with a home PAC match against Westminster. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
