MCKEESPORT, Pa. (Sept. 11) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team enjoyed a very successful Saturday when it traveled to a tri-match at Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets swept a pair of 3-0 victories from the host squad and Pitt Greensburg.
The wins pushed Waynesburg's overall record to 4-3 for the season, which is the program's best start to a season since 2013.
After taking the opener against UPG (0-6), the Yellow Jackets opened their match against Greater Allegheny (4-4) with a 25-17 win in set one. The final two sets of the late contest were both decided by the final score of 25-21.
Freshman
Makayla Osborn (Salem, Ohio / Heartland Christian School) continued her fine debut season by racking up a match-high eight kills against the home team. Junior
Alexys Marsh (Panama, N.Y. / Panama Central) contributed seven kills to the winning effort, while senior
Mya Brooks (Lansing, Mich. / Holt) and junior
Kayla Stohon (Summerhill, Pa. / Forest Hills) chipped in five each to the winning effort.

Waynesburg returns home on Wednesday, Sept. 15, to open Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play against Washington & Jefferson. Start time is set for 7 p.m.
