MCKEESPORT, Pa. (Sept. 18) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team traveled to Youghiogheny Country Club on Saturday for a dual match with Carlow. However, due to the Celtics only bringing three golfers to the course, the Yellow Jackets were declared the winner by default.
Waynesburg, which carded a 351 as a team, was led by senior
Jonathan Faber (Canonsburg, Pa. / Lakeview Christian Academy), who fired a match-low score of 84. Senior
Luke Diel (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Mars) followed closely behind Faber with an 87. Junior
Andrew Evans (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park) also broke 90 with an 88, while junior
Briston Bennett (Mt. Morris, Pa. / Trinity Christian) completed Waynesburg's scoring four with a 92.
Junior
Jake McCuen (Moon Township, Pa. / Moon) also took the course for Waynesburg and posted a 100.
Waynesburg is scheduled to be back in action on Monday, Sept. 20, when it participates in the Saint Vincent Invitational. Tee time at Latrobe Country Club is scheduled for 11 a.m.
