ELWOOD CITY, Pa (Sept 23) - The Waynesburg University men's golf team traveled to the Connoquenessing Country Club for a Thursday dual match with Geneva. The host team pulled out a 338-345 win.
Waynesburg was led by senior Luke Diel (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Mars) and junior Cannon Hay (Berlin, Pa. / Berlin Brothersvalley), who tied for low score on the day by carding identical tallies of 78. Junior Jake McCuen (Moon Township, Pa. / Moon) and senior Jonathan Faber (Canonsburg, Pa. / Lakeview Christian Academy) completed the team's scoring four with final marks of 92 and 95, respectively. Junior Briston Bennett was also in competition and logged a 100 for the day.
Waynesburg is scheduled to be back in action on Monday, Oct. 4, when it participates in the Westminster College Invitational at Avalon Field Club in New Castle, Pennsylvania.
