MEADVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 1) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team concluded a busy week that included matches on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The Yellow Jackets traveled to Allegheny this weekend for the first match of its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) schedule, but ended the day on the wrong end of a 3-0 final score. 
 
Waynesburg (2-14, 0-1) dropped the contest to the Gators (11-8, 1-0) by the set scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-16.
 
Sophomore Emma Hyatt's (Carmichaels, Pa. / Carmichaels) seven kills led the Jacket offense on the day. Junior Trysten Smith (Senecaville, Ohio / Shenandoah) tallied a squad-best 14 assists, while junior Mickayla Baniaga (Kalihi, Hawaii / Kamehameha Schools Kapalama) compiled 12 digs.
 
Waynesburg is back in action on Tuesday night with a PAC showdown against Chatham. The match begins at 7 p.m. from the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
