BEAVER FALLS Pa. (Oct. 11) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team played the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on the road Tuesday night. The fourth Presidents' Athletic Conference match for Waynesburg (2-17, 0-4 PAC) was a tough one, as the Yellow Jackets fell 3-0.
Waynesburg dropped the first set to Geneva (8-11, 2-2) 25-17. The Yellow Jackets lost 25-15 in the second set and 25-16 in the third to finish the night.
Senior
Alexys Marsh (Panama Central / Panama N.Y.) led Waynesburg with seven kills and totaled 11 digs. Senior
Kayla Stohon (Summerhill, Pa. / Forest Hills) added five kills and a team-high two blocks. Junior
Trysten Smith (Senecaville, Ohio / Shenandoah) paced the Jackets with 12 assists, while freshman
Riley Ruffley (Bedford, Pa. / Bedford) added eight.
Sophomore
Jordan Stein (Manor, Pa. / Norwin) continued to be a solid defensive contributor for the Orange and Black by pacing her squad in digs with 17.
Waynesburg returns to the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse Thursday night to begin a two-match home stand against Saint Vincent. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
