WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 13) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team hosted Saint Vincent Thursday night for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match. Waynesburg (2-18, 0-5 PAC) put up a tough fight against one of the conference's top teams, but ultimately fell 3-0.
The Jackets fell in three sets (25-18, 25-22, 27-25), increasingly making the match more difficult for Saint Vincent (14-4, 4-0).
Senior
Kayla Stohon (Summerhill, Pa. / Forest Hills) led the squad in kills (9) and the match in blocks (3).
Junior
Trysten Smith (Senecaville, Ohio / Shenandoah) and freshman
Riley Ruffley (Bedford, Pa. / Bedford) both contributed double-digit assists. Smith paced Waynesburg with 12 and Ruffley added 10 helpers.
Sophomore
Jordan Stein (Manor, Pa. / Norwin) registered a match-high 19 digs. Senior
Alexys Marsh (Panama, N.Y. / Panama Central) was active on offense and defense for the Yellow Jackets thanks to six kills and 17 digs.
Waynesburg concludes its brief two-match homestand against Franciscan on Saturday. The match will begin at 11 a.m.
