Women's soccer takes down Penn State Beaver

Yellow Jacket offense opens up in 11-0 win over Lions

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 22) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team hosted Penn State Beaver for a rare late-season non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on Saturday night. The Yellow Jackets picked up an 11-0 win over the visiting Lions.
 
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for Waynesburg (4-7-5) and featured eight different goal scorers. Sophomore Haley Johnson (Somerset, Pa. / Rockwood) led the charge with her first hat trick of the season. Johnson tallied three goals on eight total shots, seven of which were on goal.
 
Sophomore Sutton Clark (Ashburn, Va. / Stone Bridge) tallied two goals and an assist on the evening.
 
The victors got one goal each from senior Emily Redman (La Plata, Md. / La Plata), sophomore Demaree Livingston (Willow Grove, Pa. / Upper Dublin), junior Kate James (Silver Spring, Md. / St. John's College H.S.), freshman Reagan Mittendorf (Bluffton, Ohio / Bluffton), freshman Riley Corradi (Darlington, Pa. / Blackhawk) and freshman Lydia Brown (Clearfield, Pa. / Clearfield).
 
The Jackets racked up 10 assists in the win. Livingston, senior Sarah Rentler (Mount Lebanon, Pa. / Mount Lebanon), freshman Chloe Zook (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) and junior Madey Hill (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) logged two helpers each. Clark and James set up one goal each.
 
Senior Autumn Blair (Penn Hills, Pa. / Penn Hills) got the start in goal and played the first 45 minutes. Freshman Mya Riggle (Ford City, Pa. / Armstrong) handled the goalkeeper duties in the second half.
 
Waynesburg wraps up the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 26, with a PAC showdown against Geneva. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
