WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 24) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team fell 4-0 to Franciscan in a cold Monday night President's Athletic Conference (PAC) match at John F. Wiley Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets (3-8-5, 1-5-3 PAC) did what they could to slow a potent Barons (12-3-3, 7-2-1 PAC) attack and trailed just 1-0 at halftime. Unfortunately, Franciscan tacked on three second-half goals to put the game out of reach.
Freshman goalkeeper
Andrew Price (Fountainville, Pa. / Plumstead Christian) did all he could to help his team pull an upset against the number-two team in the league. He racked up a personal collegiate-high 14 saves, including several athletic denials, over 90 minutes in net.
The Jackets conclude the 2022 season at home on Wednesday night against Geneva. Kickoff will follow the women's match, which begins at 6 p.m.
