GREENVILLE, Pa. (Dec. 5) – The Waynesburg University wrestling team traveled to the New Standard Invitational, which was hosted by York (Pa.) this past Friday and Saturday. Two of the Yellow Jackets' top performers were honored by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as its Wrestler of the Week and its Rookie of the Week.
Junior
Colby Morris (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) was named PAC Wrestler of the Week after winning the 174-pound weight class. He went 4-0 with four hard-fought victories coming by decision. Morris never allowed more than three points in any of his bouts on his way to the title. He took the crown after upsetting top seeded Reid Colella of The College of New Jersey 6-3. Colella went into the tournament as a "Contender" for the D3Wrestle.com national top 10. Morris is now 8-0 on the season.
Freshman
Christian Michaels (West Mifflin, Pa. / West Mifflin) was named PAC Rookie of the Week after logging his first collegiate victory. He pinned York's Colman Ermi to score the win.

here. Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 10, when it travels to Muskingum for a tri-match with the host Muskies and Mount St. Joseph. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
