WHEELING, W.Va. (April 14) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team faced off with Bethany on Thursday for a dual match. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Bison by the final score of 366-438 on the Oglebay Jones Course in Wheeling, W.Va.
Waynesburg was led by senior
Luke Diel (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Mars), who carded the low score of the day (83). Junior
Jake McCuen (Moon Township, Pa. / Moon) added an 88 to the Jackets' winning four-man tally. Sophomore
Jake Scheidt (Saxonburg, Pa. / Knoch) tallied a 97 on the day, while junior
Carter Newcome (Punxsutawney, Pa. / Punxsutawney), completed the Yellow Jackets' scoring four with a 98.
Junior
Andrew Evans (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park) also competed for the Jackets and complied a 99 over 18 holes. Waynesburg posted the five lowest scores of the 11 individuals on the course.
Waynesburg is next scheduled to be in action on Monday, April 18, when it takes part in the Westminster Invitational. Tee time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
