WAYNESBURG, Pa. (May 27) – The Waynesburg University football team is proud to announce its recruiting class for the 2022 season. The class of 60-plus athletes is the first assembled under new head coach Dr. Cornelius Coleman.
 
"We are extremely excited about our incoming class. This group of young men is filled with quality athletes, both on and off the field of play," Dr. Coleman said. "The direction of Waynesburg football is trending upward. I have to commend Coach Sam London, our Recruiting Coordinator, and the rest of our entire staff (Gabe Luvara, Joshua Francis, Russ Moore and Luke Sheridan) for a job well done in such a short period of time. This class will fit in well with our returning veterans. I cannot wait to begin fall camp with such a great group of quality athletes."
 
This year's class includes individuals from 12 states and The District of Columbia. The newest group of Yellow Jackets also includes at least one junior college transfer.
 
"This year's incoming class is filled quality young men who excel off the field as much as they do on the field," London said. "At the NCAA Division III level, some schools focus on quantity every year and that leads to a decrease on the quality of the roster. This class, on the other hand, is full of young men who will make an immediate impact on the field and on our campus. The level of competition has increased and we are very excited to see how these young men compete, grow and develop together."
