WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 30) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team celebrated senior day on a beautiful, sunny Saturday at John F. Wiley Stadium. The Yellow Jackets honored their six seniors with an 11-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over Thiel.
 
With the victory, Waynesburg (5-3-1, 3-0-1) moved into first place in the PAC standings.
 
The eventual game winner was scored by freshman Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom), who took a pass from senior Kate James (Silver Spring, Md. / St. John's College H.S.) and found the back of the net. James went on to score the next two for the home team, which led 3-0 after 12:52 of play.
 
Waynesburg tallied two more before halftime to take a 4-0 advantage heading into the break.
 
The Jackets racked up seven goals in the second period, while preserving their second shutout of the season.
 
James, Mohrbacher, junior Sutton Clark (Ashburn, Va. / Stone Bridge) and freshman Emily Beck (Pittsburgh, Pa. / West Mifflin) logged two goals each in the win. Junior Haley Johnson (Somerset, Pa. / Rockwood), sophomore Reagan Mittendorf (Bluffton, Ohio / Bluffton) and sophomore Lydia Brown (Clearfield, Pa. / Clearfield Area) contributed one score each to the winning effort.
 
The Jackets will look to stay undefeated in conference play on Wednesday, Oct. 4, with a road trip to Washington & Jefferson. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
