NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Nov. 21) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team traveled north to Westminster on Tuesday for one last Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game before Thanksgiving break. The Yellow Jackets trailed by just two points at halftime, but a big third quarter for the Titans allowed the home team to score a 64-52 win.
Both teams suffered through slow offensive starts as Westminster (3-2, 2-1) led 12-7 after 10 minutes of play. Waynesburg (0-5, 0-2) rebounded in the second quarter by outscoring the host school 16-13. Trailing 18-12, the Jackets jumped ahead of the Titans with a 9-0 run that included four of their own scoring at least two points each.
The Titans recorded seven of the nine points scored over the final 3:53 of the half to take a 25-23 edge into the break.
Westminster continued to lead through the first part of the third quarter, but back-to-back field goals by freshman
Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom) and junior
Madisen Dayton (Ridgeley, W.Va. / Calvary Christian Academy) tied the score at 33-33 with 4:22 showing on the clock. Unfortunately, the final 14:22 belonged to Westminster as it put the finishing touches on the win.
The Titans outscored the Jackets 13-2 over the remainder of the quarter and led 46-35 heading into the final 10 minutes of play. Their lead expanded to as many as 20 points on multiple occasions, before settling in for the dozen-point win.

Kara McFadden (Painesville, Ohio / Fairport Harding) set team-high totals in both points (nine) and rebounds (eight). Freshman forward
Kayla Howard (McDonald, Pa. / West Allegheny) added nine points of her own on four-of-six shooting from the field, while senior
Marley Wolf (Ellwood City, Pa. / Riverside) added eight.
The Jackets are off until Wednesday, Nov. 29, when they host Washington & Jefferson for the first of three-straight home PAC contests. Tipoff with the Presidents is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
