STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (April 11) -- The Waynesburg University men's tennis team traveled to Franciscan University on Tuesday afternoon for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match with the Barons. The Yellow Jackets dropped the contest by an 8-1 final score.

Michael Saliba (New Kensington, Pa. / Valley) posted the lone Yellow Jackets (0-6, 0-3 PAC) victory of the day in his number-three singles flight against his Barons (4-9, 3-1 PAC) opponent.

Saliba dropped the opening set 4-6 but bounced back in set two with a thrilling 7-6 (9-7) deuces victory. In the do-or-die third set, Saliba came out on top with an 11-9 victory to clinch the contest.

In doubles, the duo of Saliba and junior
Justin North (Plum, Pa. / Plum) came up just short in their 8-5 number-two doubles flight.

The Yellow Jackets return to the court on Thursday when they travel to Latrobe for a PAC matchup with Saint Vincent. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
