WAYNESBURG, Pa. (October 3) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team took on Saint Vincent in its fall opener. The Jackets fell 6-1 to the Bearcats at the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility on Thursday evening.

Waynesburg opens the 2024-25 season at 0-1 while Saint Vincent rises to 3-0.

Thomas Torcaso (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) notched the Jackets' point at No. 6 singles in a super tiebreaker, 6-4, 0-6, 10-8.

Josh DeFries (East Aurora, N.Y. / East Aurora) and Tyler Gordon (Strongsville, Ohio / OHDELA) each won three games in singles action at second and fourth singles respectively.

Saint Vincent took the doubles point with wins at all three doubles flights.

The Jackets conclude their fall slate at Mount Aloysius on Oct. 16.
