GROVE CITY, Pa. (October 9) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team squared off with Grove City in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Wednesday afternoon. The Wolverines prevailed 7-0 but the Jackets increased their games won against Grove City from three last fall to 10 in 2024.
Waynesburg falls to 1-9 on the season and 0-7 in PAC play. Grove City rises to 9-1, 6-1 PAC.
The Jackets' first and third doubles flights took a game off Grove City in doubles play.
Julia Corey (Eighty Four, Pa. / Ringgold) won three games in a 6-0, 6-3 defeat at No. 3 singles.
Julia Luzar (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) at No. 1 singles and
Alli Bailey (Mount Pleasant, Pa. / Mount Pleasant) at fifth singles both went down 6-1, 6-1 and
Aubrey Burns (Kittaning, Pa. / Armstrong) took a game at No. 6 singles.
The Jackets conclude their fall slate at Washington & Jefferson tomorrow.
