CRESSON, Pa. (Feb. 24) -- The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference road tilt at Mt. Aloysius 14-2 Saturday afternoon on Kelly Field.
The Mounties (2-0, 0-0 AMCC) notched the first nine goals of the game to lead 9-0 with 1:32 left in the opening half. The Yellow Jackets (0-2, 0-0 PAC) got on the board 22 seconds later as
Waverly Lorne (New Providence, N.J. / Governor Livingston) tallied her fifth goal of the season to make it 9-1. The home side added a goal before the break to lead 10-1 after 30 minutes.
Lorne notched her second goal of the game with 1:34 left in the third period to make it 13-2. The two-sport standout has posted multi-goal efforts in her first two collegiate lacrosse games. She also notched team bests in shots (seven) and draw controls (four) in the Jackets' first road game of 2024.
Anna Bradley (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette) notched 10 saves in goal and had a game-best five ground balls.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Monday at 6 p.m. for a home non-conference battle with Hanover.
