WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 10) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by Geneva at the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility on Wednesday afternoon.
The Jackets, playing in their second spring semester match, fall to 1-11 on the season. Geneva moves to 7-8.
The Golden Tornadoes won all three doubles points 8-0, 8-1, 8-0.
Aubrey Burns (Kittaning, Pa. / Armstrong) won eight games in a competitive 7-5, 6-3 defeat at No. 6 singles.
Marley Wolf (Ellwood City, Pa. / Riverside) made her season debut at No. 4 singles and took five games in a 6-2, 6-3 loss.
Julia Luzar (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) at first singles and
Alli Bailey (Mount Pleasant, Pa. / Mount Pleasant) at fifth singles each won three games in their singles matchup.
The Jackets close their season against Carlow on April 20.
