WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 24) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team was defeated 19-1 by Allegheny in the Jackets' home finale at John F. Wiley Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Waynesburg falls to 1-15, 0-8 PAC. Allegheny rises to 8-6 and remains tied for second in the conference standings at 7-1.
The Gators triggered a running clock in the waning seconds of the first quarter. The Jackets notched their lone goal of the contest three minutes into the fourth quarter with
Anna Bradley (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette) finding the back of the net.
Waverly Lorne (New Providence, N.J. / Governor Livingston) led Waynesburg with five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Diana Gurecka (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton LaSalle) made a dozen stops in net for the Jackets.
The Jackets conclude their 2024 campaign at Westminster on Saturday.
