GROVE CITY, Pa. (April 9) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team was defeated 22-1 at Grove City on Tuesday evening.
The Jackets fall to 0-10 on the season and 0-3 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play. Grove City tops the PAC standings at 9-3, 4-0 PAC.
The Wolverines scored the first 11 goals of the contest to trigger a running clock early in the second quarter.
Anna Bradley (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette) scored Waynesburg's lone tally with 8:55 left in the second period. Grove City led 15-1 at the half and tacked on seven more goals in the second half.
Waverly Lorne (New Providence, N.J. / Governor Livingston) notched three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Gabriella Provenzano (West Mifflin, Pa. / Serra Catholic) had three caused turnovers.
Ziomara Reyes (Kearneysville, W.Va. / Martinsburg) and
Megan Wilson (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) had two caused turnovers and two ground balls apiece.
Diana Gurecka (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton LaSalle) made five saves on the evening.
The Jackets take on Bethany on Saturday in West Virginia at 4:00 p.m..
