WAYNESBURG, Pa. (September 12) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play against Franciscan at the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility on Thursday. The Barons remained unbeaten on the season with a 7-0 victory.
Waynesburg falls to 0-2, 0-1 PAC. Franciscan rises to 3-0, 1-0 PAC.
Julia Umshares (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) took a game in the first set at No. 2 singles and
Karly Starcher (Williamston, W. Va. / St. Mary's) secured one in the first frame at No. 4 singles.
The Barons swept doubles play with
Julia Luzar (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) and Umshares earning a game at first doubles in a 6-1 defeat.
The Jackets continue PAC play at Saint Vincent on Sunday.
