LATROBE, Pa. (September 15) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team took a point at fifth singles but fell 6-1 at Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Sunday afternoon.
The Jackets fall to 0-3 (0-2 PAC) while Saint Vincent moves to 5-1 (3-1 PAC).
Alli Bailey (Mount Pleasant, Pa. / Mount Pleasant) notched the Yellow Jackets' first point of the season with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 victory that was decided by a super tiebreaker.
Julia Umshares (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) and
Julia Corey (Eighty Four, Pa. / Ringgold) both won five games in 6-4, 6-1 defeats at second and third singles, respectively.
Aubrey Burns (Kittaning, Pa. / Armstrong) won three games in a 6-1, 6-2 loss at sixth singles. Burns and Bailey combined for the most competitive doubles flight with a 6-3 defeat at third doubles.
Waynesburg hosts Allegheny in a PAC match on Thursday at 4 p.m.
