Tarolli, Men’s Golf claim titles at Golden Eagle Invitational

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio (September 20) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team had the top two individual finishers and claimed the team title at Kent State Tuscarawas' Golden Eagle Invitational at the Oak Shadows Golf Club on Friday.

The Jackets bested Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Geneva by a single stroke to win the seven-team one-round event with a team score of 320. 

Freshman Alan Tarolli (Washington, Pa. / Fort Cherry) took medalist honors for the second time this season as he used a three-under back nine to finish with 73 strokes. Tarolli has taken all-tournament honors in each of the first four events of his debut season.

Matt Karpeal (Smithfield, Pa. / Albert Gallatin) finished a solo second with a 76 in his fourth top-10 finish to start the season.

Chris Barrish (Carmichaels, Pa. / Carmichaels) was Waynesburg's third scorer with an 84 in his debut with the Jackets' golf team. Cesar Will Lapid (Frostburg, Md. / Bishop Walsh) closed the team scoring with an 87. Tyler Rollinson (Scottdale, Pa. / Southmoreland) finished with 108 strokes. 

The Jackets host the Waynesburg Invitational at Nemacolin on Sept. 30.
