WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 28) – The NCAA released its latest Division III regional soccer rankings late Monday afternoon. The Waynesburg University women were given the number five spot in Region VII.

The Yellow Jackets earned the accolade thanks to its 14-1-2 overall record and one of the stingiest defenses in the country. Waynesburg has given up just six goals in 17 games this season, which equates to the 16th-lowest goals against average in all of Division III. The Jackets have also tallied a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC)-best 12 shutouts, putting them in a tie for 23rd place nationally in terms of shutouts per game.

Waynesburg has been even more impressive offensively. Prior to its 2-0 win over Geneva on Saturday, the Yellow Jackets were ranked eighth in the country with a 4.06 goals per game average.

The Jackets are currently ranked just ahead of fellow PAC member Grove City, which is ranked sixth in Region VII. These two squads will clash tomorrow at John F. Wiley Stadium in the regular season finale for both schools. The winner will be the top seed in the upcoming PAC championship tournament. Both teams have already secured first-round byes and will host semifinal contests on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
