TRAFFORD, Pa. (Nov. 10) – After winning 42 matches last season, junior 174-pounder
Jessie Orbin (Houston, Pa. / Chartiers-Houston) got off to another fast start this past week. For his efforts on the mat, Orbin was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Wrestler of the Week.
Orbin got his week going with a 9-4 decision win over Penn State Altoona's Andrew Weaver during the Jackets' 45-0 win over the Lions on Friday. He followed that up the next day with a second place showing at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.
Orbin, the two seed at the weight class, opened his day with a forfeit, before pinning Lycoming's Devon Greene in 2:16 to reach the semifinals. The Yellow Jacket standout outlasted Gettysburg's third-seeded Ethan Composto 4-1 to reach the title tilt, which he dropped to Lycoming's returning national qualifier Nolen Zeigler.
