TRAFFORD, Pa. (Dec. 15) – Congratulations to junior women' soccer player
Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom), who was honored by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as one of its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Month for November.
Mohrbacher holds a GPA of 3.71 as a Digital Design major with minors in Biblical & Ministry Studies and Marketing.
She is a two-time member of the CSC Academic All-District Team for the 2024 and 2025 seasons and a two-time member of the PAC Academic Honor Roll.
This year on the soccer field, Mohrbacher earned a All-PAC First Team roster spot for the second consecutive season and was an All-Region First Team selection and was named first-team All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). She finished with 17 goals and seven assists for a total of 41 points, helping the Yellow Jackets to a historical season, ending with an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championship title.
During the month of November, the Jackets extended their season by four games, playing in the PAC postseason conference semifinals and final and the ECAC semifinals and final. With a nail-biting victory in the conference semifinal against Saint Vincent, Mohrbacher helped seal the win with an assist and goal in the final 12 minutes. In the PAC final, the Jackets had 15 shots in total, including one from Mohrbacher that bounced off the crossbar.
In the ECAC semifinal against Pitt-Greensburg, Mohrbacher scored within seven minutes, getting the momentum rolling for the Jackets in a game that ended with a 3-2 Jackets' win in overtime. During the ECAC Championship Game, once Waynesburg gained a 1-0 lead, Mohrbacher was dropped into the midfield to help defend for the final minutes of the game, helping seal Waynesburg's tournament title and a 3-1 record in November.
With soccer season concluded, Mohrbacher has moved to the hardwood as a member of the Waynesburg women's basketball team. She currently ranks second on the team in scoring (14.0 points per game) and leads the way with 8.5 rebounds per game over two contests.
Mohrbacher is also involved in campus ministry life at Waynesburg. She is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club, a campus ministry assistant leading a bible study for female athletes every week, a member of the Design Club, and a student ambassador for the Admissions Department on campus.
