KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 30) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer enjoyed plenty of success on the field in 2025, as it produced its winningest season in team program history, reached the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championship game and won the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) title. On Monday, the Yellow Jackets were honored for the outstanding sportsmanship and demeanor they carried on the pitch over 22 games.
The Jacket women were one of just 45 teams, men or women, across all three divisions of the NCAA that received a 2025 United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award. The accolade, which is tiered into Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze versions, recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season based on the number of cards accumulated divided by the number of games played (i.e., five cards divided by 20 games played is 0.25 or 25%, which qualifies for a Silver Award).
Waynesburg was one of 19 teams to receive a Bronze award, which is presented to a program that accumulated a percentage of cards ranking from 31 to 50%.
