TRAFFORD, Pa. (March 13) – Waynesburg University senior men's wrestler
Seth Evans (Sharon, Pa. / Sharon) has been selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Men's Scholar-Athlete of the month for February 2025.
Each month, the SAAC chapters from each PAC member school are asked to nominate one male and one female student-athlete for PAC SAAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month consideration. Nominees must be junior or senior student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved in their campus communities.
Evans is a four-year starter for the Waynesburg men's wrestling team and turned in his finest campaign in the 2024-25 season. Evans finished second on the roster with 30 wins and earned All-PAC Second Team honors as the runner-up at 157 pounds at the PAC Championships.
Evans placed at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational, Penn Invitational and Ohio Northern Invitational and won two matches at the Region 4 Championships. He concluded his Waynesburg wrestling career with 74 victories.
Off the mat, Evans is a three-year resident mentor at Waynesburg and has served as the executive editor of the Yellow Jacket student newspaper for the last two years. He served on two spring break service trips to Concord, N.C. with Habitat for Humanity.
A human services major and communications major, Evans maintains a 3.07 cumulative grade-point average and plans to pursue a master's degree at Dublin City University in Ireland.
Franciscan women's basketball player Jazzlyn Melnyk was also honored as the PAC SAAC Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Month.
