WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 13) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team had four student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors from the College Sport Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
Junior guard
Aubrey Burns (Kittanning, Pa. Armstrong), sophomore guard
Kara McFadden (Painesville, Ohio Fairport Harding), sophomore forward
Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. Freedom) and junior forward
Clara-Paige Miller (Waynesburg, Pa. Waynesburg Central) each picked up their first academic award in their basketball careers.
Burns is a nursing major with a 3.74 cumulative grade-point average. She appeared in all 25 games off the Yellow Jacket bench and averaged nearly 14 minutes per game. Burns scored a season-high seven points and swiped two steals in a win against Thiel.
McFadden is a health and exercise science pre-physical therapy major with a 3.82 GPA. McFadden was fourth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in three-pointers made (52), while also leading the team in three-pointers made and ranking second on the roster in scoring at 10.0 points per game.
Mohrbacher is a digital design major who holds a 3.64 GPA. She was also named to the fall CSC Academic All-District team in the fall as a member of the women's soccer team. Mohrbacher ranked third in the PAC in made free throws (89) and fifth in rebounds per game (8.4). Mohrbacher was Waynesburg's leading rebounder in 2024-25 and finished fourth on the team in scoring at 8.4 points per game.
Miller is a health and exercise science major who boasts a 3.76 GPA. She was named to the PAC All-Sportsmanship Team and averaged 5.4 points with 3.3 rebounds. Paige-Miller scored a season-high 13 points in a conference victory against Westminster.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes that excel on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for academic all-district status, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least two-thirds of the team's games. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Waynesburg went 14-11 and finished with their most wins and highest winning percentage since the 2017-18 season. The Jackets finished one game back of sixth place, the cutoff for PAC tournament qualification.
