WASHINGTON, Pa. (March 27) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference match 7-0 at Washington & Jefferson on Thursday evening.
Waynesburg's (2-4, 1-2 PAC) two-match winning streak came to an end while W&J (5-6, 3-0 PAC) remained undefeated in league play.
The Jackets were not swept in any singles or doubles flight. Waynesburg combined to win five games in doubles play, one more than last season.
In singles play
Ethan Clawson (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) won four games in a 6-1, 6-3 defeat at No. 1 singles.
Andres Rojas (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Brashear) and
Tyler Gordon (Strongsville, Ohio / OHDELA) each won three games in singles action. Rojas went down 6-1, 6-2 at fourth singles as Gordon fell 6-2, 6-1.
The Jackets host Penn State Altoona on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
