WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 14) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team defeated Bethany 3-1 in match play at the Greene County Country Club on Monday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets and Bison contested six flights of match play golf. Two of the head-to-head contests ended all-square.

Matt Karpeal (Smithfield, Pa. / Albert Gallatin), Nate Barnhart (Washington, Pa. / Trinity)and Tyler Rollinson (Scottdale, Pa. / Southmoreland) each triumphed in their matchups to secure the 3-1 win.

The two teams also tracked 18-hole scores. Karpeal finished second overall of the 14 players who completed the round at 74 strokes. Alan Tarolli (Washington, Pa. / Fort Cherry) followed in fourth with a 76. Brock Bayles (Clarksville, Pa. / Jefferson-Morgan) was sixth with an 83 and Connor Jacobs (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) tied for seventh with an 87.

Waynesburg tees off at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Spring Championships on April 25 at the Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.
